Antiperspirant
Why Do We Sweat?
Everyone strives to develop themselves and to increase their individual quality of life to the greatest possible extent. Excessive sweating is more than an annoying problem in this regard, as it often severely restricts personal freedom. People who suffer from this problem often withdraw, because nobody likes to endure the pitying looks of others. Home remedies such as sage tea or alternating baths usually only have a short-term effect or even no effect at all. causes of sweatingSweat production is basically a protective function of the body, which is intended to prevent the organism from overheating. Another reason for the sometimes violent activity of the sweat glands can be stressful situations. The so-called cold sweat runs down your back. This is a reflex that occurs in particularly stressful situations. A chemical process in the body is responsible for the fact that we sweat particularly heavily in these situations. Blood sugar rises, cortisone is released, which leads to an adrenaline rush. This reflex was often vital in the Stone Age, because it sharpens the senses, releases energy and we start to sweat. The Stone Age people were able to escape the impending danger. Today the reflex is rather annoying. The high level of adrenaline in the blood ensures that the skin is less supplied with blood and cools down. Sweat has a hard time evaporating on cool skin, which is why it is also called cold sweat. We cannot stop the reflex, but we can contain the negative symptoms. Some people tend to carry the stress of the day with them to sleep and therefore suffer from sweating, especially at night. The reason for this is often the stress of the day, which is reduced during sleep. It gets very uncomfortable when you wake up in the middle of the night and find yourself in sheets soaked in sweat. Unrestorative sleep puts additional stress on the body and can also cause a real problem for your partner.People who suffer from excessive sweat production are often stuck in a vicious cycle. The stress factor they are exposed to increases immeasurably as the fear of sweating triggers renewed stress, which in turn leads to sweating. Relaxation techniques and meditation only help to a limited extent. In order to escape this vicious circle, a reliable and fast-acting remedy against sweating is necessary. Furthermore, there are also phases of life in which it is quite normal to sweat more. Female menopause is just one example. In this phase, which is part of every woman's life, the hormonal changes in the body ensure that excessive sweat is sometimes produced. So-called hot flashes are the result. The sweating cannot be controlled and therefore often leads to very unpleasant situations, especially the face is often affected. Most women are relieved after the body's adjustment phase and the sweat glands return to their normal activity. Nevertheless, there are also some women for whom this is unfortunately not the case. Sweat production does not reduce completely again. In order to lead a carefree, active life and to maintain the youthful quality of life, an efficient remedy against sweating is advisable.
Learn moreAntiperspirant
What is an antiperspirant? An antiperspirant inhibits perspiration. Antiperspirants have been used to prevent excessive sweating for over 100 years. Your advantage over other measures is the purely superficial mode of action. Aluminum chloride, the active ingredient in the Odaban antiperspirant, constricts the outlets of the sweat glands in the skin. As a result, less sweat is secreted, skin and clothing stay dry. The insolubility of the aluminum complex prevents it from being absorbed into the deeper layers of the skin, effectively limiting the treatment to the top layer of the skin. The effectiveness of aluminum chloride as an antiperspirant was proven as early as 1972 by an experimental study by the skin specialist Prof. Dr. Hagen Tronnier and his colleague Rentschler demonstrated. They were able to show that the number of active eccrine sweat glands decreased by an average of 70% and sweating by 64%. How does an antiperspirant work? When applied to the skin, aluminum chloride causes the skin cells to contract (astringency). The outlets of the sweat glands are narrowed in this way. The aluminum chloride then forms a complex that can be thought of as a small plug of sweat, sebum and skin cells. This complex closes the exits of the sweat glands so that no sweat can get onto the skin. After a few days, the astringency is eliminated and the effect of the antiperspirant wears off. No sweat - no smellIf sweat comes into contact with special microorganisms that are part of the natural skin flora, sweat odor develops. Corynebacteria (especially in men) and micrococci (especially in women) break down sweat. In the process, unpleasant-smelling substances are formed, which are perceived as sour to pungent. But if sweat is not secreted in the first place, it does not form any odors. As an antiperspirant, Odaban promotes a naturally pleasant skin odor.

Application of the Odaban antiperspirantThe Odaban antiperspirant can be used all over the body. It shouldn´t come into contact with mucous membranes. It is important that the Odaban antiperspirant, regardless of where it is applied to the body, is always applied immediately before bedtime and on perfectly dry skin. As soon as initial protection has built up, which is usually the case after three to five uses, the Odaban antiperspirant should only be used as needed (once or twice a week). Applying the Odaban antiperspirant to the headYou can also use the Odaban antiperspirant on your face. This is not a problem. Odaban should not be used on irritated or irritated skin. The Odaban antiperspirant was originally only developed for the armpit and foot area. In the course of time, however, a wide variety of areas of application have emerged. We have many customers who use Odaban very successfully on their faces. Odaban should also only be applied in the evening when used on the face. Please never spray directly into the face, but always apply Odaban with the help of a cotton or cosmetic pad (1-2 sprays are sufficient). Please wash the treated skin areas normally the next morning. For use on the face, it is usually sufficient to use it once a week or as needed. Please never treat the entire head with Odaban, but only individual affected skin areas, since sweat also has a cooling function. If you have sensitive skin, we recommend testing the Odaban antiperspirant on a small area before applying it over a large area. Use of Odaban antiperspirant during pregnancy or breastfeedingThe Odaban antiperspirant is a "cosmetic product". According to the law, cosmetic products must always be safe. Also for expectant and breastfeeding mothers. Before it was launched in Germany, Odaban was subjected to several safety assessments, all of which were positive. You can therefore use the Odaban antiperspirant without hesitation use during pregnancy and lactation. When not to use the Odaban antiperspirantAn antiperspirant should not be used during the day. The simple reason for this is that we sweat more during the day. As a result, the active ingredient aluminum chloride reacts with water to form a by-product and unpleasant skin irritation can occur. You should therefore refrain from using it during the day. It is also not advisable to use an antiperspirant after you have just shaved your armpits, as this leads to extremely small injuries to the skin's surface and can cause skin irritation after using an antiperspirant. What should you avoid when using the Odaban antiperspirant?A very important aspect when using Odaban antiperspirant is that the skin must be absolutely dry at the time of application. There must be no residual moisture in the armpits. If there is still residual moisture in the armpits, the effect of the product cannot unfold optimally, and the residual moisture can cause skin irritation, itching or burning. Many users who use the Odaban antiperspirant for the first time often have the problem that they still sweat a little in the evening, i.e. that a certain residual moisture can hardly be avoided. Here we recommend using the Odaban antiperspirant immediately before going to bed and drying the armpits with a little talcum powder or a hair dryer beforehand. In this way you can ensure that there is no residual moisture in the armpits.Another mistake that is often made when applying is that too much of the Odaban antiperspirant is applied per application. 1 spray per armpit is sufficient. If you have sensitive skin, we always recommend applying it with a cotton or cosmetic pad. Please wash off product residues normally the next morning. The Odaban antiperspirant should only be used once or twice a week after an "initial protection" has been built up. In addition, the Odaban antiperspirant should not be used too often, as this means that the spray cannot achieve the desired effect. The reason for this is that if used too often, the sweat gland outlets are completely "blocked". The sweat that collects behind the blockage will eventually break through that blockage. As a result, sweating increases again. Should this nevertheless be the case, then the Odaban antiperspirant must not be used for a period of approx. two to three weeks. After this application-free interval, the effect will be the same as when you first started using it. Thus, Odaban remains a very effective, safe product for a long time.
Learn moreEffect
antiperspirant effect Approximately 1-2% of people in Germany are affected by excessive sweat production. Those affected usually sweat without a direct trigger, unpredictably and more than would be necessary to regulate the body's own temperature. The sweating usually occurs locally, e.g. in the armpits, on the soles of the feet or in the intimate area, more rarely on the whole body. This is how antiperspirants work against excessive sweatingSweat alone is virtually odorless. The main cause of sweat odor is the excretion of bacteria that live on the skin and decompose the sweat there. Antiperspirants are used to narrow the exits of the sweat glands and therefore have an astringent function. Perspiration is stopped and the skin stays dry. In addition, the odor-causing bacteria are deprived of food by this process, thus reducing the production of unpleasant-smelling excretions. The Odaban effect is produced by the astringency, i.e. the "contracting" effect, of the ingredient aluminum chloride. Overnight, this combines with the protein on the skin's surface to form an insoluble and inactive bond that partially blocks the outlets of the sweat ducts as a plug. The next morning, the treated skin area can be washed without losing the Odaban protection, which remains for several days. The aluminum-protein complex formed is so insoluble that there is absolutely no absorption of aluminum into the body system. Therefore, Odaban is completely safe even in long-term use.The effect of the Odaban antiperspirant has been convincing for over 50 years. Because in addition to aluminum chloride in dissolved form, the Odaban Spray also contains skin-care ingredients. This not only effectively regulates and reduces sweating, but also prevents skin irritation. Because of this, Odaban is recommended by numerous German skin clinics and dermatologists around the world. All products from the Odaban family are suitable for all skin types and are particularly easy to use.The antiperspirant effect of the Odaban spray has also been tested and proven by a dermatological institute. 20 subjects, all of whom suffered from increased sweat production, were treated with the Odaban antiperspirant once a day in the evening for 3 days. The other armpit was left untreated throughout the trial and served as a control. In order to increase perspiration, the subjects had to sit in a sauna and also drink lime blossom tea. After only three days of use, the test persons showed a reduction in the amount of sweat of up to 90%, with the average sweat reduction being around 71%. The excellent effect of the antiperspirant was thus immediately confirmed.
Learn moreSweaty spring fever? No thanks!
It's the same phenomenon every year. The first rays of sunshine are shining, the temperatures are rising and slowly but surely life is returning to the landscape. But while some are looking forward to the long-awaited start of spring, for some others an inexorable time of uneasiness is beginning. Because they primarily associate one thing with rising temperatures: heavy sweating, annoying sweat stains under the arms and the ever-present fear of the funny looks of their fellow human beings. Not a trace of the all too often mentioned spring fever! But what to do? Rising temperatures make the tills ringIf you don't want to be surprised by unpleasant sweat stains, you can take precautions and stock up on plenty of deodorant before the start of spring. And indeed, the sales figures show that as soon as spring knocks at the door, the demand for deodorants and antiperspirants also increases. This is more than understandable in view of the taboo subject of sweating, because heavy sweating can actually be a real mood killer - not only on the first date, but also on a nice barbecue with friends. Both conventional deodorants and antiperspirants are particularly in demand among the remedies for heavy sweating. In this context, the decisive factor when choosing a product is always the intensity of perspiration, because only an antiperspirant can actually regulate sweat production. So if you finally want to fight the annoying sweating, you should definitely use an antiperspirant. Finally enjoying the sunshine againUsed once or twice a week, the antiperspirant helps to reduce sweat production and thus ensures that annoying sweat stains do not form in the first place. Spring is so much more fun! After all, without the constant fear of sweating, you can sit in the sun much more relaxed and you can finally enjoy the first rays of sunshine to the fullest. Affected people who suffer from heavy sweating know how profound the consequences can be in everyday life and in freetime activities. It's better to stay cool at home, turn on the television or read a good book than taking a walk through the fields or eating your first ice cream. And that with the first rays of sunshine. Because while others only look for a pleasantly shady spot in midsummer, they avoid the sun for fear of possible sweating at the beginning of the year. It is clear that this can really spoil the mood in the long run. Those affected often have to struggle with psychological problems and withdraw from their social environment. They lack the time in the fresh air, the contact to other people and they feel more and more restricted in their everyday life. While some are actively looking for a solution to their sweating problem for precisely this reason, the majority of those affected only realize afterwards how much sweating has really affected their private and professional lives. They only notice much later how much joy of life they have lost due to the constant fear of sweating. But they both have one thing in common: the knowledge that they have finally got over sweating and the fear of sweat stains means they can enjoy every spring twice as much.
Learn moreSweating despite the cold
There are quite a few people who sweat quickly even when the temperature is below zero. You're actually happy that the summer temperatures are dropping a little and you no longer have to pay attention to the subject of "your own sweat", as it was at summer 25 degrees Celsius, but the sweat continues unabated. A vicious circle that is sometimes difficult to break. Sweat secretion is influenced by various factors. Thermoregulation via perspiration always kicks in when the body needs to cool down to protect itself from overheating. The so-called evaporation heat, which is produced by sweating, gives the body the required body temperature and the cooling effect begins. With a few simple tricks, you can still significantly reduce sweating in winter. If you sweat excessively despite the cold season and what you can do about itAs soon as you go outside through the apartment or front door, it can get freezing cold. Nevertheless, it can well be that the body begins to sweat extremely quickly despite the low temperatures. Those affected sweat profusely and independently of natural causes such as heat, stress or physical exertion. Sweating in winter or when it is cold is basically nothing unusual and is rarely caused by an illness. Because often it is simply due to unfavorable clothing that we prefer to wear in winter. It should ideally be warm and windproof and waterproof. However, the problem with choosing clothes in the colder season is that heat build-up can also be triggered. The body is then only poorly able to evaporate the heat as usual. With airtight winter clothing, the body also feels overheated in the supposedly protected areas, despite the cold outside temperatures, so that cooling is stimulated by sweating. What you can do in winter to counter sweat secretions is shown below: Basically, care should be taken to get rid of winter clothing as quickly as possible when coming from the cold back into the warm, so that the body can adapt to the temperature difference as quickly as possible. You should therefore quickly ensure adequate ventilation. Furthermore, it is advisable to ensure that the clothing for the cold season consists of textiles that are also breathable. The skin can then breathe optimally and the moisture is quickly transported from the skin to the outside, so that an optimal regulation of the body temperature is possible. Especially for low temperatures are for example garments made of wool Alcohol and nicotine are not only harmful to health, they also stimulate the body and thus contribute to sweating more quickly. Therefore, consumption should be kept to a minimum. A healthy diet can also help to counteract or even prevent unpleasant sweating. Incidentally, this does not only apply to the summer months. Anyone who generally sweats quickly should avoid hot and/or heavily seasoned food if possible. It is better to eat light food such as fruit and vegetables. Another proven remedy for excessive sweating for many people is weight loss combined with a healthy diet. Being overweight almost always demands significantly higher energy reserves from the body than is the case, for example, with people of “normal weight”. So if you have too much on your ribs, you should try to bring your weight back into a normal range. Then the annoying sweat attacks will be less. It is also very important to drink enough liquid – preferably at least 2 liters per day. You don't sweat more or sweat faster because you drink more, the opposite is actually the case. Of course, when choosing drinks, you should make sure that you don't just drink sugar water. Mineral water and fruit juices without sugar are ideal. An antiperspirant like the Odaban Spray also works very well and very quickly. As a rule, the flow of sweat is effectively regulated after just one to three uses and it is not without reason that many dermatologists around the world recommend it as a remedy for excessive sweating. Visits to the sauna also help your body get to know higher temperatures better and can thus more easily control the activity of the sweat glands. Due to the sudden temperature fluctuations, the heat regulation of the human body is strongly stimulated and required. At the same time, a regular visit to the sauna makes a very important contribution to strengthening the immune system and has a positive influence on other illnesses or everyday problems.
Learn moreSweating on the face: bye bye beads of sweat!
The forehead is shiny, the hairline is wet and the nose is studded with small beads of sweat. A completely normal phenomenon when a heat wave sweeps over Germany or you have really worked yourself out at a fitness course. For some people, however, it means sheer horror. Because they not only sweat like most people during intensive physical activity, high stress or extreme temperatures. On the contrary: Even small everyday challenges, minimal nervousness or a slightly higher room temperature can be enough to boost your sweat production and really make you sweat. Sometimes just the thought of something potentially uncomfortable is enough to make you sweat. Many of those affected are ashamed and are increasingly withdrawing into their own four walls. They avoid contact with other people, neglect good friends and prefer to be alone. Social withdrawal is supposedly the only way for them to no longer have to be ashamed and to be able to hide their sweating. Sweating on the face is the worstAnyone who sweats a lot or heavily knows the problem: everything revolves around the question of how best to conceal those annoying sweat stains. What do i wear?Which colors do I wear best? Do I also have the emergency handkerchief in my pocket in case a heat wave hits me? Is the change shirt also ready to hand?Sweating on the face is usually the most unpleasant thing for those affected. A wide variety of areas can be affected, e.g. nose, upper lip, cheeks, forehead, hairline or even the scalp. A real problem in this context often arises when sweat gets into the eyes and these are constantly irritated as a result. However, the psychological effects should not be underestimated either: In contrast to other parts of the body, sweating on the face can hardly be concealed and thus causes enormous psychological suffering in those affected. The fact that the large and small beads of sweat are obvious and easy to spot for those around you triggers an enormous feeling of shame. At the same time, those affected usually experience an oppressive feeling of helplessness, because they know that the wet droplets on the forehead or face, in contrast to other parts of the body, such as the armpits, can hardly be hidden: even frequent dabbing ultimately only causes one temporary reduction. In addition, the overwhelming feeling of shame can even increase sweating. As soon as sufferers notice that they are starting to sweat, they become uncomfortable, nervous and experience stress. As a result, the body releases more stress hormones, the body temperature rises and with it the production of sweat. A real vicious circle with negative consequences for mental well-being. Reliable protection with antiperspirantsA reliable and subtle way to get a grip on unpleasant facial sweating is to use an antiperspirant such as Odaban. What is special about the Odaban antiperspirant is its unique combination of active ingredients, which allows those affected to use the spray on their face and scalp. Simply spray the spray onto a cotton pad and dab the affected areas with it. After just a few applications, it reduces sweat production to a considerable extent and thus provides those affected with a completely new attitude to life. The circling thoughts about the choice of clothes are finally a thing of the past, as is the oppressive feeling of shame and the associated avoidance of direct contact with other people.

Who does´nt know it? After a nice day of skiing or snowboarding, stop off comfortably in the hut or the hotel to end the day. If it weren't for the constantly circling thoughts of the foot and shoe smell that fills the room as soon as you take off your ski or snowboard boots, because after a long day on the slopes your feet burn as if you were on glowing coals ran. The smell coming out of the shoe is unbearable. The robust footwear serves to protect the feet, but ski and snowboard boots also have a decisive disadvantage: extremely poor ventilation. Due to the permanent moisture, the skin on the feet swells and becomes susceptible to germs and fungi. A vicious circle - because as soon as bacteria decompose the fresh, odorless sweat, the unpleasant smelling feet develop. Since foot hygiene alone is not enough, those affected are often faced with an unsatisfactory solution: should I leave my shoes on or do I jump into the shower and put the shoes as far away as possible or even outside? Whichever variant is chosen, none of this is relaxed. There is a simple and effective solution. Counteract the unpleasant odor with Odaban foot and shoe powderFoot odor is a common problem. Amazing: Even baby feet can have a slightly cheesy scent long before they wear their first shoes. This is because feet sweat easily and there are numerous sweat glands in the skin of the feet. Although sweating is a normal body reaction to heat, many people feel embarrassed if they have a sweat problem, but feel left alone with their problem. For example, if you are struggling with a problem with sweaty feet, you often forget to treat your shoes as well. Even if the feet are odor free, the problem will return once the shoes are worn again. Odaban's foot and shoe powder is therefore sprinkled directly into the shoes. It works with the natural power of the kawa-kawa plant, its germ-reducing properties help to prevent the strong odor in the long term, in contrast to a conventional shoe deodorant. You simply put a spoon (measuring spoon is included in the box) of Odaban foot and shoe powder in the shoes and then shake them until the powder is distributed. After that, the ski or snowboard boots are worn as usual. After five uses, there will be hardly any odors. In order to achieve long-term protection, it is necessary to use the product consistently for seven to ten days.
Learn moreHeavy sweating during menopause
Hot flashes, profuse sweating and sweating are among the most common side effects of menopause. In particular, the sudden outbreaks of sweating are experienced by the affected women as extremely unpleasant and stressful. During this time, some women not only feel a lower quality of life but also an enormous psychological strain. What many do not know: in addition to the well-known hormone replacement therapies, cosmetic products, such as the use of an antiperspirant, often help. Menopause and sweating - What is behind it?How is it that many women sweat more during their menopause? In most cases, the cause is disturbed heat regulation, which is associated with hormonal changes in the body. Hot flashes and sweating are therefore nothing unusual at first. However, the exact connections are still unclear. Scientists assume that one of the main reasons for the increased sweating during menopause is the falling estrogen level: Accordingly, the low estrogen concentration in the blood is decisive for the malfunction of the central thermoregulation. Heavy sweating and spontaneous sweating are not necessarily a sign of a permanent illness. On the contrary: Hot flashes and sweating often occur more frequently at the beginning of the menopause and disappear again after one to two years. It is therefore a temporary phenomenon that has nothing to do with an overactive sweat gland caused by a disease. What you can do if you sweat profusely and break out in a sweat:If hot flashes and sweating severely impair the quality of life or have a negative effect on psychological well-being, a visit to the gynecologist is always advisable. In the case of hormonal sweating, herbal preparations or physical therapy methods, such as cold-blooded foot baths or acupuncture, can alleviate the symptoms. Taking artificial hormones can also help. However, these so-called hormone replacement therapies are controversial from a medical point of view, since they are associated with serious health risks. A decision should therefore always be made after careful consideration and in consultation with the doctor. What most women don't know is that cosmetic products often have a great effect. The use of an antiperspirant is particularly promising. It helps to reduce sweating to a normal level - without artificially supplied hormones and time-consuming visits to the acupuncture practice. Due to its quick and easy application, those affected can continue to go about their everyday lives as normal and do not experience any additional restrictions on their personal freedom. Thus, the antiperspirant can be seen in two ways as a guarantee for a better quality of life. A healthy lifestyle can support the effectIn addition to the hormonal changes during menopause, other factors can also promote increased sweating. Stress, obesity and lack of exercise are the usual suspects in this context. In addition, coffee, alcohol, and spicy or difficult-to-digest foods can increase sweating. In order to effectively counteract the annoying outbreaks of sweat and to reduce sweating in the long term, it is essential to ensure sufficient exercise and a balanced diet.
