The antiperspirant spray should not be used during the day. The simple reason is that sweating increases during the day. As a result, the active ingredient, aluminium chloride, reacts with water to form a by-product, which can cause unpleasant skin irritation. Therefore, daytime use is not recommended. It is also not advisable to apply an antiperspirant immediately after freshly shaving the underarms, as this can create tiny skin surface injuries and may lead to irritation after using the antiperspirant.

A very important aspect when using odaban® antiperspirant is that the skin must be completely dry at the time of application. There should be no residual moisture in the underarms. If there is still some moisture, the product’s effectiveness will be reduced, and it may also cause skin irritation, itching, or burning. Many first-time users often experience slight sweating in the evening, meaning some residual moisture is unavoidable. In such cases, we recommend applying odaban® antiperspirant just before bedtime and drying the underarms beforehand with a little talcum powder or a hairdryer. This ensures the underarms are completely dry.
Another common mistake is applying too much odaban® antiperspirant. One very thin layer per underarm is sufficient. For sensitive skin, it is recommended to apply the product using a cotton or cosmetic pad. Any product residue should be washed off normally the next morning.
Once initial protection is established, odaban® antiperspirant should only be used once or twice a week. Frequent use should be avoided, as over-application can prevent the spray from achieving its desired effect. This is because excessive use can fully “block” the sweat gland openings. Sweat accumulating behind the blockage may eventually break through, leading to increased sweating again.
If this happens, the antiperspirant should not be used for about two to three weeks. After this break, the product’s effectiveness will return to its initial level.
